As an aspiring writer, the lecture you gave offered me some practical techniques for dealing with the "ego" or editor and put into different words the kind of awareness that is the universe as "writer." The notion of the "symbol agreed upon" enhanced my appreciation of pragmatic ethics and added to the work that I'm currently doing. Thank you so much.
Thank you David and co. for posting these lectures. It helps me out here to keep the spirit moving. It's so easy to fall back to old ways of organizing myself around premises predicated on fear (ie isolation).
Finding David and this website is like the story David tells of William James being thrown in the Amazon by his friend. It jolts me of the circles I go in when I'm in my head/ego. It reminds me to not settle for lesser truths, but keep the faith in the Ultimate and just go out into the world and into my imagination with an open heart and accept what finds me and that although I may fail, tomorrow's always another day to put behavior before thinking.
Regardless, thank you for these videos of Milch. Hunting for what he has to say about writing, creation, fiction, language and religion must be a 2 year old hobby for me by now.

Check out Jacques Derrida's reading of Kirkegaard's Fear & Trembling in the book 'The Gift of Death'. In a way it is more helpful and interesting than Kirkegaard's actual work, I read it after reading 'The Gift of Death' and found Derrida's inquiry much more in depth and nourishing. Even people who usually hate Derrida like those series of essays.
